Absolute Beginners in Pencil
A fun class that includes a thorough understanding of the working qualities of various types of Oil/Wax pencils, support mediums, methods and techniques. The course includes a series of demonstrations to help establish a thorough understanding of how to use the pencils and supporting equipment based on Josie‘s latest book, ‘No Lines’.
Classes costs £80.00 per day or £150 for two consecutive days. Includes materials required for the day, lunch and all refreshments. Classes run from 10am – 5pm and a £20 deposit is required when booking.
This class progresses in difficulty throughout the year with different subjects. You’re welcome to bring your own materials but most equipment required can also be purchased at the studio.
Day Schools
These are intended for artists of all levels to spend quality time painting with expert guidance and tuition. We specialise in the medium of oil/wax pencil. Great fun to work with, a medium that is clean, inexpensive and forever forgiving. Producing work that appears as if oil paint was used.
Day schools are run on the first Tuesday of each month. The classes run from 10am- 4pm. They include a light lunch and copious supplies of tea and coffee. Day schools are £80.00 inclusive. A £20 deposit is required when booking.
Set in the Cam Valley the new studio is fully equipped, an artists heaven. Basic equipment is provided free of charge for new comers. Classes are restricted to 8 pupils to allow for more individual tuition so advanced booking is essential.
Chiaroscuro – Light and Shadow
levi A fun course set on every alternate Saturday morning, using the principles of Chiaroscuro (light and shadow) to produce amazingly life like pieces of work. Working from photos that we will prepare in the studio. We will progress stage by stage completing an image.
Each class will have a maximum of 8 students to allow for close personal tuition. A £20 deposit is required when booking.
The classes run from 10am – 1pm at £25.00 per class, refreshments included.
No experience necessary and your choice of subject is up to you. Basic equipment is provided free of charge for newcomers.
